Weave Your Own Kilim: A Coaster & Bookmark Workshop!

Spend an afternoon with your hands in the wool.

In this small, unhurried workshop you'll learn the basics of Kilim weaving, the same craft behind Dariyaa's handwoven rugs and make two pieces to take home: a coaster and a bookmark or 2 coarsters (your choice), in traditional patterns and colours you choose yourself.

No experience needed. We'll set up your loom, walk you through it step by step, and you'll leave with something you made from the first thread to the last.

Come for the making, stay for the tea. You'll weave surrounded by a few of Dariyaa's handwoven rugs, hear the story of the women artisans in India who make them and slow down for a couple of hours in good company.

Beginners welcome. Everything is provided. Just bring yourself.

About your host:

 Hi, I'm Ginni. I'll guide you through your first Kilim piece from start to finish.

I grew up watching my mother weave, and that's where my love for this craft began. I started Dariyaa to keep the art of weaving alive and to share it with people here in Berlin. This workshop is my favourite way to do that: putting the craft directly into your hands.
